The Katsina State Police Command has announced the establishment of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) which will serve as a focal point for receiving and addressing primarily complaints from the public against police personnel within the state.
The CRU, led by ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, seeks to streamline the process of handling complaints, ensuring accessibility and efficiency while upholding the rights and dignity of individuals.
ASP Sadiq, in a statement on Thursday, encouraged members of the public to utilise the CRU to report any concerns or grievances they may have.
The initiative he said reinforces the importance of a collaborative approach between law enforcement and the public to ensure a more accountable and responsive police force.
For individuals seeking to make inquiries or lodge a complaint, ASP Sadiq said.
Part of the statement read:
"The Katsina Police Command remains steadfast in its dedication to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct. The establishment of the CRU reaffirms our commitment to fostering trust and confidence within the community we serve.
“We encourage members of the public to utilise this resource to report any concerns or grievances they may have. By working together, we can ensure a better and more accountable police force for all.”
